How long does a survey take?

Most residential surveys complete in 2–3 hours. Comprehensive and Ultimate packages take closer to 3 hours. We ask that you're present for the first 15 minutes, after which you can leave.
Is this the same as a BER assessment?
+
No — and the difference matters. A BER uses assumed values based on construction type. Brundt measures the actual performance of your specific building. We're complementary to BER — our report can inform and support an updated BER assessment.
Do I need to prepare the property?

For airtightness testing, all windows and doors should be closed, extract fans temporarily sealed, and the heating at a consistent temperature. We send a one-page pre-survey checklist when you book. Nothing complicated.
Will the survey damage my property?
+
No. Every instrument is entirely non-invasive — no drilling, no holes, no surface damage. The Pulse system connects through a door frame seal. Heat 3D sensors attach with temporary adhesive and leave no marks.
Can I use the report for a SEAI grant application?

Yes. Our reports are formatted to support SEAI Warmer Homes Scheme and Better Energy Home grant applications. We include the technical documentation grant assessors need. We can also advise on which grants you're likely to qualify for.
What is the radon test and do I need it?
+
Ireland has the highest radon levels in Europe — 91,000+ homes exceed the 200 Bq/m³ reference level. A passive detector is left in the lowest occupied room for 90 days, then posted to a lab. Result arrives by email. Remediation costs €800–1,500 and is highly effective.
Do you cover the whole of Ireland?

We currently survey properties in Leinster and Munster. We're expanding to Connacht and Ulster in 2026. If you're outside our current area, get in touch — we can sometimes arrange surveys on request.
